As its name indicates, the Procedural Language/PostgreSQL Structured Query Language (PL/pgSQL) is a procedural language managed by PostgreSQL. This language is very similar to Oracle’s PL/SQL, which makes it possible, with a few adaptations, to port scripts from or to Oracle.
