Mixed Content

« Back to Glossary Index

Even if a user has bound an SSL certificate and their site is already HTTPS, if there are videos, scripts or other material derived from an HTTP page, browsers are likely to find the site unreliable. This mixture of HTTP and HTTPS content to display the same page is called “mixed content”.

N0C provides customers with a tool to check whether a site contains mixed content.

Note: a website using the HTTPS secure protocol has mixed content if it still includes some unencrypted content via the HTTP insecure protocol.
