Google Authenticator

« Back to Glossary Index

Google Authenticator is a one-time password generation software, allowing two-factor authentication (2FA).

When a user provides their username and password to log into any application, Google Authenticator sends a 6-digit number to another device, such as a mobile device. In return, the user must then enter that same number into the application they want to log into to complete their authentication.
