How to Obtain the EPP/AuthInfo Key of a Domain Registered with 1&1/IONOS for Transfer

Introduction

These steps are designed to help you transfer your domain name registered with IONOS to your PlanetHoster customer account.

Some ccTLDs have special features that must be taken into account. Please refer to this article.

Most domains must be registered in your name for at least 60 days before you can transfer them to another provider.

How to Obtain the EPP/AuthInfo Code

  1. Login to IONOS and select the desired contract.
  2. Access to Domains section of the Privacy & Contact Details page.
  3. Select your domain.
  4. Disable the Private registration option1 :
  1. Access to Domains section of the Renewal and Transfer page.
  2. Select your domain.
  3. Disable the Domain transfer lock option:
  1. Click Show Authorization Code:
  1. Your code is made available to you in the window that appears next. In some cases, this may take several minutes.
  2. We recommend that you copy/paste the code to avoid transcription errors when transmitting the code to PlanetHoster.
  1. The Private registration option is not displayed on the Privacy & Contact Details page if it is not available for your domain. In this case, there is nothing to disable. ↩︎
