How to Obtain an AuthInfo Code for a Domain Name

Introduction

In this article, we explain how to get the AuthInfo code in V2 if you decide to transfer a domain from PlanetHoster to another registrar.

Procedure to Obtain the AuthInfo Code

First of all, make sure that your email as the WHOIS registrar of the domain is well defined (if needed, please refer to the article Changing the WHOIS of a Domain Name).

1. Open the management interface of the domain in question (if necessary, please refer to the article Domain Management).
2. Make sure that the domain is unlocked (please refer to the paragraph Locking and Unlocking, and Transferring a Domain Name from PlanetHoster to Another Registrar in the article Domain Management).
3. Click on the Retrieve AuthInfo by Email button, so that the code is forwarded to the WHOIS registrar email of the domain:

4. If for some reason you need to change the code, you can click on the Modify AuthInfo button before requesting to get the AuthInfo code by email.

Note: At Afnic, locking is a paying option. If the domain is part of it (for example, .fr domains), you cannot change the AuthInfo. However, it is always possible to obtain the default AuthInfo by email.
